Simple Sausage Supreme Pizza
Servings: 2-3
Ingredients:
For the Pizza:
Pizza Dough (feel free to make your own or use store-bought dough)
Pizza Sauce (Recipe below)
Cooking Oil (Ie., EVOO)
Toppings:
Green Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
Chipotle Chicken Sausage, sliced into rounds
Red Onion, thinly sliced
Spinach Leaves, fresh
Mushrooms, thinly sliced
Cheese (I used pre-shredded cheese; however, I recommend shredding your own!)
For the Pizza Sauce (Homemade, Optional):
1 Can (14 ounces) Crushed Tomatoes
1 Clove Garlic, minced
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Dried Basil
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Pizza Sauce (Optional):
In a small saucepan, heat a bit of Cooking oil/EVOO over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
Simmer the sauce for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens. Set aside to cool.
2. Prepare the Toppings:
Wash and thinly slice green bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms, set aside.
Thinly slice chicken sausage into rounds, set aside.
2. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 460 degrees Fahrenheit. (The hotter the oven, the better the pizza crust).
3. Prepare the Pizza Dough:
On a pizza stone or oiled baking pan, stretch out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
4. Add Pizza Sauce and Toppings:
Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
Layer on the toppings: green bell pepper slices, chipotle chicken sausage slices, red onion slices, fresh spinach leaves, sliced mushrooms, and cheese.
5. Bake the Pizza:
Place the prepared pizza in the preheated oven.
Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the bottom is crispy, and the sides are golden brown. The exact baking time may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on it.
6. Enjoy!
Once your Sausage Supreme Pizza is beautifully baked, remove it from the oven.
Slice it up, serve, and enjoy hot!
